So, What are we all about...Really?

We are fundamentally truth seekers. You may have gotten the idea from the web site name "Bible Maverick" that we are against the bible or hold contempt for the same.
Nothing could be further from the truth. There
is no ancient writing that even comes close to it's historical accuracy. No writings have ever had so much influence on the world and have had so many things written about them. No writings have endured the scrutiny and thrived like these. Nothing compares to the biblical writings...period.
That having been said, we are interested in all biblical views, "heretical" or otherwise. We firmly believe that main stream Christianity is in error on many foundational fronts.
We believe that the average believer is a follower and not necessarily a truth seeker. They have a tendency to be opinionless, parroting the opinions of their particular denominational creed or the pastor.
We are for the complete restoration of New Testament Christianity. To us it's not just a bunch of pretty words that ring hollow when actual practices are examined.
To us, the churches in existence today that are sounding the restoration bell are "clouds without water." They preach restoration principles but wouldn't touch actual restoration with even "one of their fingers."
They are like so many of us, they desire change as long as they don't have to do anything differently. That, by the way, was Einstein's definition of insanity.
We also believe that "truth has nothing to fear from the evidence" and that truth is certainly not imperiled by free and open discussion. We say bring it on! Let's discuss it openly and without rancor.
